Role: Co-founder & UX Designer

Stage: Live MVP (early users onboarding)
The problem
Independent beauty specialists (nail artists, lash technicians, etc.) often manage their business through Instagram and messaging apps.
Through observation and early conversations, we identified recurring issues:
- bookings handled via DMs → easy to miss or forget
- constant back-and-forth with clients (availability, pricing)
- no structured way to present services professionally
- risk of losing clients due to slow or unclear communication
- no online presence
This results in lost bookings, wasted time, and reduced professionalism
Research & validation
1. Problem discovery
We first observed how beauty specialists manage bookings directly on Instagram, identifying inefficiencies in real-life workflows.
2. User interviews
We conducted short interviews with beauty professionals to validate:
- how they manage bookings today
- their biggest frustrations
- what they would expect from a solution
3. Early prototyping & testing
- Created low-fidelity prototypes
- Conducted usability testing sessions
- Iterated based on feedback
4. MVP validation
After developing the product:
- launched a live version
- conducted 2 weeks of beta testing
- onboarded first early user
Key insights
1. Messaging is the core bottleneck
Managing bookings through DMs creates friction and errors
2. Simplicity is critical
Users are not looking for complex tools — they want something fast and easy
3. Professional presence matters
Specialists want a clean, personal space to showcase their work
4. Speed directly impacts bookings
The faster a client can book, the higher the chance of conversion
Key product decisions
1. No marketplace — personal ownership instead
Instead of building a marketplace, we chose to give each user their own page.
 Why:
- marketplaces reduce visibility and control
- professionals want to own their brand and client relationship
2. Simplicity over feature richness
We deliberately avoided building a complex system.
Focus:
- fast onboarding
- minimal setup
- intuitive flows

3. Booking as the core feature
We centered the entire product around:
- real-time availability
- instant booking
- automated confirmations
4. Progressive feature strategy (MVP approach)
We intentionally limited features to validate demand before scaling.
Not included (yet):
- payment system
- advanced CRM
- shopping features
Design & landing page
I designed the product and landing page to clearly communicate value:
- problem-first messaging
- strong focus on simplicity (“no tech skills needed”)
- clear benefits over features
- mobile-first approach
The goal was to reduce friction and increase trust from the first interaction and bring the feeling of the owning the space.
Outcome
- Product successfully launched
- Completed beta testing phase
- First early adopter onboarded
- Currently validating product-market fit
The product is live, but still evolving based on real user feedback.
